I'd say to go to San Francisco to get some certifications from Suhaila, Jamilla, &/or Fat Chance!!!

That would be my dream trip.

You could go to one of the Rakkasah conventions (there are four a year), Rachel's Costa Rica intensive, A weeklong Suhaila intensive, or one of the conventions in Vegas. :)

See if Bellyqueen or Venus Uprising have any workshops/shows planned, for a start... Kaeshi hosts a weekly show w/ awesome pros and Djinn's music at Je'Bon in the East Village every Wednesday.

I've been to the Cupping Room and Lafayette Grill (restaurants) and seen great show at both.

It really depends on what you want to do and what your style is...can you give us more info?

Do you want to focus on taking classes or workshops? If so, with whom? And do they only do workshops or do they teach regular classes in their area? Are you interested in certification?

Do you want to see a certain big show with a specific theme or focus? If so, what kinds of performance do you want to see? Or are you looking for more low-key, intimate shows?

Which dancers are you interested in seeing perform live, and which ones would you *only* be able to see if you traveled to see them?

Are you looking for one-of-a-kind dance costumes/jewelry? Custom-made or off-the-rack? What style of costuming would you be looking for?

I could suggest many things but it totally depends on what you want to do...
