instructional videos?

I'm feeling sort of stuck at the level I'm on and there are isn't much in the way of tribal, much less tribal fusion in my area. I'm looking for good videos.

I have the Ariellah video and both RB's, as well as East Coast Tribal and Cammi Vance's.
I'm going to start collecting the FCBD line.

Can anyone tell me what other videos they've found helpful?

FCBD, all the way! There are 7 DVDs now, for the "complete student".

I haven't had a chance to use/see the FCBD vids yet. There is a General Skills workshop series in Seattle later this year that I'm considering taking, though I think the videos would be cheaper.

I happen to love Ariellah's videos too. They are some of my favourites. I also love Asharah's video. I use it quite a bit for drilling. I have Sharon's video but haven't had a chance to do much with it.

Also...**whispering voice**...Zoe is supposed to be coming out with a video later this year.

Ashara's is really great, I second (or third) Ariellah's. I also like most any of the WorldDance New York series. I like learning new combinations to drill. I lately have been into the East Coast Tribal basics, combinations &strength workout, and Shakra's 'Industrial Strength' I saw Sharon's dvd and was going to ask if anyone has a review. I would be SO PSYCHED if Zoe came out with one :)

I also love Michelle Joyce's Drills,Drills, Drills, and Pop, Lock and Shimmy (though it is not tribal, it is great (esp the drills)

heee... no worries. Thanks for the shout out. :D

Personally, I really love Suhaila's Fitness Fusion series. I also think that Sharon Kihara's DVD is great for dancers who are new and just starting to build their technique and strength. The material is manageable and accessible for a wide range of beginning dancers.

    Videotape yourself drilling and dancing.

It's an excellent way to monitor your own progress. I practice things I've been taught in class, at workshops and things I've learned from instructional DVDs. However, seeing myself executing those moves really helps me to know if I am getting to where I want to be. Do things look the way I think they do? What are my hands doing? Do the moves look as crisp/soft/smooth/large/small as I want them to be?

Teachers are very good at helping you work on problem areas but they can't catch everything unless you are taking privates.

Videotaping has helped me immensely. I realize I am much better than I thought which is a real confidence booster. I see things that I thought were good that need improving. And I also see things I know need improving but "seeing" also gives me clues as to what to do to correct what needs correcting.

    Hope that helps.
