Vintage Rachel and Kami video

This is now my new favorite video. I'm not even sure where to start... the amazing shimmies by Rachel, the duet between she and Kami where they do a double layback so close to each other that Rachel is laying on Kami's belly, the part where they join Kajira and --do ATS--....

I'll let you decide!

Granted, I haven't seen it yet because I have dial up issues, but... Unless they're in leg warmers and head bands, why is anything from just three years ago considered "vintage". ???

*sigh* I'm not sure what they meant exactly, so I will admit that, but still, sometimes the state of certain aspects of The Artistic community makes me sad....

I think "Vintage" is being used in a tongue and cheek fashion. I think it's safe to say that both Kami and Rachel have moved in different artistic directions since this video was shot. That particular stage of their creative lives is something lovely to revisit because they've evolved, hence it's "vintage" in relation to them.

I love what you said Kaleena... to me it is like looking back in history. I know 3 years ago wasn't that long ago, but since 'Tribal Fusion' is such a young art form and the styles practically change over night, it sort of feels vintage.

Thanks for posting this video Dano, sharing the stage with Rachel that evening was so much fun.

Glad folks like the video... I did indeed use the word Vintage tongue in cheek and I think the posts above are spot on as to my feelings. When I "found" this video in my tapes it was like finding a tiny time capsule (that admittedly hadn't been in the ground that long). It just made me reminisce and realize how many things changed and evolved in my own life since that time.

And yes, indeed the was a rawkin time... I was first to the Bar... and they refused to believe me when I said... "in about 15 minutes you will be invaded by 40 hungry/thirsty half-crazed bellydancers."
