Mon, June 1, 2009 - 8:24 PMI have a feeling that each of those dresses is an individual vintage score of epic proportion. My suspicion is that the girls Know People. -

Re: wow! those dresses
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 6:20 AMI saw a number of those dresses in a vintage store on Haight in SF. They seem to be vintage-style flapperesque dresses that are made of a beaded chiffon overlay. As I recall they were more than $ 200.00, but beautiful and in all different colors. -

Re: wow! those dresses
Tue, June 2, 2009 - 4:28 PMThose actually look like the outer shells of "vintage" reproductions. An antiques store near where I live sell these repros as flapper dresses, and that looks like the stretch beaded outside, if you took the satin slip away. Maybe you could try that.
I have emailed the store to see what the company name is, but they're kind of like this:
ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...280_.jpg
it's beaded stretch chiffon, with a same color slip underneath. It may be very delicate work to take the slip out, as the sheath and slip may share seams, but it would be very close.

Wed, June 3, 2009 - 8:47 AMAlright, I asked about the company that makes those kinds of dresses here, and I got a very snooty "We don't disclose information about our wholesale companies" Up there's. -

Re: wow! those dresses
Mon, June 8, 2009 - 4:57 PMSimply gorgeous! Alas the largest size won't fit me. :( For the price you would think they could accommodate a wider size range.
(Not that I can afford such an extravagance at the moment, but the thought is nice.) -

Re: wow! those dresses
Mon, June 15, 2009 - 5:07 PMThey are in fact reproductions of 20's flapper dresses according to Zoe Jakes when I caught her outside the venue to ask her about them. One of the few things the girls didn't saw themselves, it seems. -
