Hi there!
I would like to start using props more often, to make my performance more varied.
I don't really like the veil, or the cane, but would love to work with candles or balancing things on my head. I also love the idea of fans and burlesque feather fans.
Does anyone know any good dvd's to get for this? Or also, where to buy there props? Or any other tips would be really helpful as well!
thanks!

Re: props in belly dance
Thu, April 17, 2008 - 5:50 AMMichelle Joyce has a veil-poi DVD you might be interested in. Her tribe is here:
tribes.tribe.net/cheekygirlsproductions
and this site sells stuff for fanveils and feather fans. I ordered from the site yet, but I've heard good things about them. ^_^

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 12:05 PMDomba has a Fire DVD.
www.domba.com/ . Select "Tribal Costuming" then "CD/DVDs" and scroll down (It's offered trhough some other vendors as well, but it's a former Domba dancer).
Haven, who made the DVD, was also making the most amazing palm flames and fire crowns. I'm sure Domba could put you in touch with her. -

Thu, April 17, 2008 - 7:17 PMAh! Finally found that preview clip... www.youtube.com/watch . Have to admit, I haven't seen this DVD yet (it's on my wish list). But I studied with Haven at Domba and she's just an amazing dancer and instructor.
