Here is what Zoe posted was stolen and is asking that everyone check flee markets in the Bay area:
stuff lost:
2 pieces of antique assuit, one black one white
1 silver rajastani belt, inch thick
12 assorted rajastani and morrocan bracelets
mardi necklace with white glass centerpiece and vertibrae on each side... Read more
black and white costume covered in hundreds of buttons
balconette bra with keys on front and flowers up side
indian sari bra with row of coins up both sides and turkoman hangings
2 pairs of melodia pants, one nude one black, both glitter
5 pairs assorted heavy indian earrings
3 tuareg rings
1 wild card ring with a bone in it
pair of fluevog boots
striped ruffle shorts
all my make up
small tin with piles of amazing steel cut trim and jet trim
small hair combs
Ladies, from my memory this is seriously ALL of her costuming! Take a look around and help a fellow dancer out!

Sun, June 28, 2009 - 11:35 PMOh man that's awful awful AWFUL!!!! Makes me think about having my things in the car. Oh the belt!!! that's a 500 dollar rare belt if I'm not mistaken. Not to mention the antique assuit and the jewelry....the costuming is priceless itself....but what shocked me most is the make-up. That is too personal, it's much like undies!!!! who would wanna wear SOMEBODY ELSE'S MAKE-UP!!!!!
I told my troupe mates about it and we came to the conclusion that whoever stole those things did it out of spite and jealousy. It's gonna be hard to sell, because her photos are ALL OVER THE NET wearing those items. The black and white costume is very unique, easy to recognize. Ohhhhhh that person is gonna be in so much trouble....and whoever buys it knowingly.....wow.

Mon, June 29, 2009 - 3:14 AMIt could be someone that has nothing to do with bellydance. I actually would rather it be this instead of a bellydancer. I'm hoping it was someone who was passing by or deliberately looking saw a big bag in the car and took the opportunity.
It doesn't matter really it's still gone. But to have it be a fan or another bellydancer. I would have trouble going to workshops, always looking to see if that one person is there that will take my stuff. And we shouldn't kid ourselves, as close as the bellydance community is we still have to look out for ourselves and each other if we want it to still feel and be as close as it is. Even from several states away I feel like it was my stuff stolen in a way. -

Mon, June 29, 2009 - 7:20 AMIt was most likely just a drifter walking by and saw something that could be a score. Some of the pieces looked like they could be of value, some of them not so much. Instead of rifling around and trying to tell the difference, it's faster to take the whole haul.
They will most likely dismantle all of the costuming in order to remove the jewelry. That's what will have immediate but indeterminate value. It'd be a good idea to check out local flea markets. The rest of the stuff they'll probably sell piecemeal to some of their fellow shady friends since no one in their right mind will purchase something like obviously used make up. -

This made me queasy, thats major cha-ching! And thats just one of the items.
I am sick for her.... The process of rounding all those little bits and piece up is like finding treasure (that you pay for), and the time to make it into a costume makes it so much more personal.
