I just got mine last week... It's a fantastic DVD!!! Very well done, easy to follow. Tobias gives great direction and really breaks things down - love the overhead shots of the zilling too. Those gals at the end of the DVD aren't too bad either!! Ha-hah! Amazing!! I highly recommend it - it's worth every penny!!
Its now available to international buyers as well at www.riqq.com
Tobias was nice enought to set the feature as soon as I mailed him!! Unfortunately I just order my point shoes and now I have to wait until NEXT paycheck to get it.. :( buuuhhuuuu
It's great! I haven't had enought time to really sit through it though. But am very excited!
You can also download audio of the drum portions of the two compositions he teaches on the DVD:
www.riqq.com/fingercymbals.html
Good for practicing the cymbal patterns while on the bus (just 'miming' the patterns, of course, not w/ my actual cymbals on)
Oh yes..."air Zilling" you gotta love the looks people give you *grin*
Hey everyone,
Tobias is going to be in New Orleans on Sun., March 11, teaching drum and finger cymbals workshops.
Details and registration here:

So if you're in the area, you can study w/ the master himself!
Ooo, thanks for the info. I'm "zill challenged" and can use anything to make it easier to practice and learn!
I've been trying to play zills for bl**dy ages, this DVD has finally broken through the cloudy mass for my brain...... and if I can do it anyone can!!!!!!!!
Speaking of "Air Zilling" has anyone seen any sites where people sell Zill Covers?
You use them to mute the loudness so that you can get the feel and speed up.
Anyone?
I've made them before - it's a simple crochet pattern - but they keep breaking because of the stress on the threads when the zills hit each other.
You basically just crochet in a circle, much like you would do to make a hat, then put elastic around the outside edge. If I manage to locate the link today, I'll post that too.
Thanks to those of you who posted the link to the pattern on my site!
For those who don't crochet, you can try pulling baby socks over your zills. You only need one pair - pull them over one zill on each hand.
ooo...that's an easy tip! Thank u Shira! Now my family will be less annoyed with me :)
Hello,
I am from Slovenia and I just order mine on riqq.com.
I think I pay it twice by exident:(
I hope he is nice and he write me back. And I hope thet the dvd arrive as soon as possible:)
SAnja
Google accout SUCS. They charge me two times and then canceled my orders. So I pay two times and no dvd :(
I am so sad. I need this dvd.
has anyone tried to order this via the paypal link? it doesn't seem to be working properly. I tried contacting tobias via the email that's on the site and that came back as undeliverable! ???? odd, very odd.....
I ordered mine by paypal in January, and it worked fine. But I checked the link just now and you're right -- I'm getting an error message.
The email on his website has some extra spaces in it, to foil any webcrawlers trolling for email addresses. Just take out the extra spaces and it should work fine. ie: contactDOTtobiasATgmailDOTcom
i just emailed to see if i can get a copy sent to me here in the uk :)
I never knew about it!!thankx sooo very much!!!
thanks, Kim....I did notice the email weirdness...but I missed the contact part!! :)
I use baby socks. Actually, when everyone is trying to watch tv I have to use 2 pair, a sock for each zill. Otherwise there is still this rhythmic thwack that I am told is most annoying.
I am gonna crochet some of those, they are so beautiful, great link there shira, thankyou so much :)
Hey Kaia,
For some reason when I was redoing the order page the paypal buttons broke when I centered them. I made new button, they worked, centered them and they stopped... anyways, the short story is that there are working (non centered) paypal links now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Tobias
Doh!!! Of course! BABY SOX!! Leave it Shira!
* "genuis!...baby sox......"* :)
The PayPal link seemed to work for me, at least it's showing my money is gone....
You should tell him. I'm sure he'd appreciate the feedback!

I've had mine for a while but haven't worked with it much cause I got my puppy around the same time. I'm weaning her up on the zill noise ;)
I really like it. I must say I never learned the different angles for the doom tek and ka, always just right or left, so I'm pretty much 'relearning' how to play them.
I'm glad this thread popped up again, I missed that I can download the drum rhythym off the site...
I was able to use an Amazon gift certificate to purchase it through Tobias's Riqq.com Amazon Marketplace Seller Account.
I am *so* thrilled that this DVD was suggested to me at Tribal Massive last month! Thank you, Rachel!
Hooray for phenomenal zilling instruction that is *so* much easier than what I have struggled through in the past.
Tobias is my new hero.
; D
I have yet to get this DVD and I really have been meaning to purchase it! Just for the performances alone, it sounds like a must have!
I love this DVD. Love it. It's fantastic and fresh. I've recommended it to my students. Along with being techinically zillicious-he is so friendly and warm. I really want to make cookies for him!
Forget it! Hands down, zils down, hips on the down...this is THE BEST.
Do not want wait...run to the nearest keyboard and purchase.
MUST HAVE!
My zil skills were so-so...not performance level. Playing the same beat-even sporadically-during a dance just didn't inspire me and I haven't had a teacher...and well...I just wasn't consistent enough. I never thought I would be able to play a song...really play with the drums AND dance.
I am now a zilling fool!
